We have had a good week and weekend though nothing special to report. We enjoy our walks along Lake Macatawa and went out to the "big lake" Michigan one evening just to walk the pier and sit and enjoy the beauty of the lake and the glimmering sun upon it. We leave tomorrow morning for Sheboygan WI and a reunion/gathering of five other seminary classmate couples. It will be a good time. We will of course have to navigate both Chicago and Milwaukee to get there but we've done that okay in previous trips. Hopeful to see Sarah and family on our return trip on Wednesday.
Our Pillar adult choir sang the following beautiful music piece this morning at worship. I assume there should be something of meaning in it for you and your soul work. It is titled "Speak O Lord."
Speak O Lord as we come to You to receive the food of Your holy word
Take Your truth plant it deep in us Shape and fashion us in Your likeness
That the light of Christ might be seen today in our acts of love and our deeds of faith
Speak O Lord and fulfill in us all Your purposes for your glory
Teach us Lord full obedience holy reverence true humility
Test our thoughts and our attitudes in the radiance of your purity
Cause our faith to rise cause our eyes to see Your majestic love and authority
Words of power that can never fail let their truth prevail over unbelief
Speak O Lord and renew our minds help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time that will echo down through eternity
And by grace we'll stand on Your promises and by faith we'll walk as You walk with us
Speak O Lord till Your church is built and the earth is filled with Your glory.
May we hear the voice of God in our daily walk and do what God says and then say what God does. Surely may the beauty of God be seen in us and experienced through us.
