We had just finished our evening meal. The sun was shining brightly and had for most of the day, a first for a good number of days. I invited Joyce (asked if she wanted) to go see the sunset on Lake Michigan. She thought it would be nice. So we hopped in the car and drove the 18 minutes to the State Park. We saw the final twenty minutes of the sun for today. It was magnificent, beautiful and gorgeous to behold. It brought to mind verse three of Psalm 113. Now if you think I knew that verse without searching the concordance for it you are wrong and think me more wise than I certainly am. You do need to give me credit for being able to use the concordance.
Here is the verse which some of you are already saying from memory. Did you know where it was located? "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised." (KJV)
"From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised." (NIV)
Here are the four points from my message "Successful Living" this past Sunday evening based on Joshua 1:1-9
1. God has a plan and a purpose for our lives.
2. God gives us promises for our lives to help us in living the plan.
3. God gives us God's presence to encourage and inspire us in living the plan.
4. God's prescription for guiding us in living the plan is found in The Bible. (Read it and do it.)
We can live successful (as God defines success not as the world does) lives knowing and trusting those four truths.
We are looking forward to Sarah and her girls joining us for a few days tomorrow. The forecast is for sun and nice temperatures (60s).
It is right and good to do what God says and say what God does.
