Isaiah 12:2-6 was one of the Advent readings that touched my life. It surely connects to the birth of Jesus and the purpose of that event taking place. I read this passage to most of the people whom I visit in my pastoral calling position. It has a message of great assurance, comfort and encouragement.
Verse 2 "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and will not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and my might; the Lord has become my salvation."
You will have to read the other verse to get the full impact of the passage.
The Spiritual Formation Bible states that this "exultant passage is traditionally used in Jewish prayer as part of the ceremony that marks the end of the Sabbath, because it looks ahead to the final day of redemption God promises to Israel. When you read it do so slowly and be open top one particular phrase that particularly draws your attention."
A blessed new year is prayed for each of you.
