Ordinary journey

So here are some quotes from various sources that I have found significant, meaningful and helpful of which I pray one or two may be useful to you in your soul work.

"Never say in your heart what you will or will not do but wait until God reveals His way to you. As long as that way is hidden, it is clear that there is no need of action and that He holds Himself accountable for the results of keeping you exactly where you are."

"Beloved Father, help me to expect you as I travel the ordinary road of life. I am not asking for sensational experiences. Fellowship with me through my everyday work and service, and be my companion when I take an ordinary journey. And let my humble life be transformed by Your presence." "And although the believer may be busy with the ordinary things of life, he can be mindful that every detail of his life is touched by the character of God's presence, and can have the awareness of God's approval and blessing. Then when troubled with burdens and difficulties too complicated to put into words and too puzzling to express or fully understand, how sweet it is to fall into the embrace of God's blessed arms and to simply sob out the sorrow that we cannot speak!"

"Even if we confine our thinking to this life, it is true that God never touches the heart with a trial without intending to bestow a greater gift or compassionate blessing. The person who knows how to wait has grown to an exceptional degree in God's grace."

"Make me, in my cloud, difficulty and pain, a rainbow bringing the ministry of joy to others. My patience will only be perfect when it works in Your vineyard."

"Our capacity for knowing God is enlarged when we are brought by God into circumstances that cause us to exercise our faith. So when difficulties block our path, may we thank God that He is taking time to deal with us, and then may we lean heavily on Him."

"No calamity will ever bring only evil to us, if we will immediately take it in fervent prayer to God. Even as we take shelter beneath a tree during a downpour of rain, we may unexpectedly find fruit on its branches. And when we flee to God, taking refuge beneath the shadow of His wing, we will always find more in God than we have ever before seen or known."

So it is as the old statement has it, we do not know what tomorrow holds but we know that God holds tomorrow. May God's joy and peace be yours in abundance.
