Neat Quotes

It was a beautiful day in Luverne. Joyce and I enjoyed a walk over the noon hour and I had a good bike ride late afternoon. In between there was packing and sorting to do. Below are some of the quotes that have inspired and encouraged me over last week or so. I pray that something here will touch your soul as it did mine.

"Be patient with everyone, but above all with yourself. I mean do not be disheartened by your imperfections, but always rise up with fresh courage."
I'm dealing with plenty of imperfections/sins in my life and living. So grateful God forgives me through Jesus and gives me a fresh start each day.

"I love tranquil solitude and such society as is quiet, wise and good."
Oh yes I like quiet and meditation.

"Thank you Father God, for the fruit You have given me through the years. When I live to serve You through worship and obedience, I do not wither and faint."
For years I have prayed daily for the fruit of Holy Spirit to be developed in my life. Not to be proud but I believe I'm seeing some of that fruit blossom in the last few years.

"The ecclesiastical idea of a servant of God is not Jesus Christ's idea. His idea is that we serve Him by being the servant of other people. The real test of the saint is not preaching the gospel, but washing disciples' feet, that is, doing the things that do not count in the actual estimate of others but count everything in the estimate of God. Jesus Christ's idea of a New Testament saint is not one who proclaims the gospel merely, but one who becomes broken bread and poured out wine in the hands of Jesus Christ for other lives."
This teaching really touches my soul. I am ever thankful to God for Harry Wendt's teaching phrase that Jesus' people are called to "do feet". Another prayer of mine is that I be alert to where God is at work in my world that I might join God in that work to glorify God and make a spiritual difference in the lives of people.

Enjoy your reflections and loive in God's joy and peace.
