I did this once before tonight but it did not post for whatever reason. I will try again even though i am more than ready for a night of sleep. We witnessed our first Holland Festival of Lights parade tonight. It was on the cold side but we have endured a number of much colder nights watching the Luverne Winterfest parade. The hot chocolate from Speedway tasted good on our way home. We are settling into our new location but we or at least I still feel like a stranger in the midst of the city.
I appreciated the following from Spiritiual director and author Evelyn Underhill and wanted to share it with you.
"A spiritual life is a life which is controlled by a gradually developing sense of the Eternal, of God and God's transcendent reality: an increasing capacity for God, so that our relation to God becomes the chief thing about us, exceeding and also conditioning our relationship with each other...For, what it means for us is surely this: that we are meant, beyond the physical, to contribute to, indeed collaborate in, God's spiritual creation."
Check out these phrases "gradually developing" increasing capacity" "chief thing" "contribute to"
Praying that your soul work is all of this and more.
