Forever

Family and Friends: As you know it has been forever since I last sent a blog. I didn't look at the date of my last one but know it was before we went to Arizona the first part of March. We did have a wonderful ten days in AZ. It was sunny and warm every day. Now it is almost the end of April. My Mom will be 91 tomorrow and we will go see her on Thursday and then spend Friday and Saturday cleaning out her house, my boyhood home from 6th grade on. We were also in Fulton April 11 following a four day stay in Northwest Iowa to see Joyce's Mom and her family there which followed a week for Joyce in Milwaukee with Sarah and family and a weekend for me. As you know we had a brutal winter in Western Michigan, much colder than normal and twice as much snow above 150 inches total. Now we're back to walking outside, enjoying that and I've done a couple bicycle rides.
Life is great just goes by so fast. At present I'm doing a ten hour a week pastoral visitation work for our local church. It doesn't sound like much time but it surely interferes with my free time and need for more bike rides and physical exercise. For the present I'm sticking with it.
During Holy Week I read the following from the e-letter from Duke University Leadership Education; "On this darkest day, we hold close this miracle of God with us. As darkness fall and all is lost, as our souls crumble and our hearts break, we are handed the memory of a Savior who leaned over into the void of the darkness and refused to give in to despair."
Christ is risen! Christ is alive and lives in us who trust in him. Glory be to God.
