Incline my heart

Here is my choice for the lectionary verse of the day as I have personalized it for me. These words were first spoken by one who was known as the wisest of people, Solomon, third king of Israel.

"The Lord our God be with us (me) as God was with our ancestors; may the Lord not leave us (me) or abandon us (me), but incline our (my) hearts to God, to walk in all God's ways and to keep God's commands, God's statutes and God's ordinances which God commanded our (my) ancestors."
I Kings 8:57-58

Inclining your heart toward God does not just happen by itself. It does take concerted effort and commitment. It is a choice that each of us must make. You and I must cooperate with God's Spirit to become a person after God's own heart. In this experience one finds true joy, peace and contentment.
God help us in our quest to fulfill God's purpose in our creation.

Do what God says and say what God does.
